As you approach The Sandbanks you cannot help but be amazed by the hotel’s all round proximity to the water! Your approach will be along the Sandbanks Road which boasts some incredible views of Poole Harbour. The hotel has plenty of parking so your arrival will be smooth and hassle free. The entrance to the hotel provides an excellent peek into things to come ­ with a welcoming smile at reception, colourful and wonderfully kept planters plus a new look bar and lounge area. Reception is located opposite Sands Bar and what could be better than a cool drink after a long journey to help you unwind while your bags are taken to your room

All the rooms at The Sandbanks are appointed to the highest standards. Whether designed to accommodate individuals, couples or families, the majority boast either magnificent sea views over Poole Bay or stunning views over Poole Harbour.

Each room has a hairdryer, trouser press, courtesy tray, direct dial telephone and satellite TV.

Balconies are a feature of many rooms, whether Standard or Superior ­ and those in the Penthouse are accessed through vast sliding doors that run the width of the room and afford a magnificent view.

As you would expect from a child­friendly hotel, families can choose from a variety of room configurations, all with full en­suite facilities.

•Dressing for dinner. Many years of experience have taught us that the majority of people staying in our hotels enjoy “dressing for dinner”. A minimum code has evolved which caters for the overall enjoyment of all guests (and not the hotel) and if we relax the rules we will be upsetting far more people than we will be pleasing.

•We, therefore operate a dress code and reserve the right to refuse service to any persons unsuitably dressed. For a pleasant pre­dinner drink, Sands Bar is ideal ­ a modern, recently re­furbished (February 2001) bar serving cocktails, draught and bottled beer and wine by the glass or bottle. Nothing could be more magical than watching the sun set over Brownsea Island from the comfort of the bar lounge. Guests can also enjoy the facilities in the Ballroom where regular entertainment takes place ­ here there is a bar and a stage which plays host to many popular acts and performers.

Enjoy the main hotel Seaview Restaurant ­ which caters for up to 160 covers in real style, the menu is varied and guests can also dine in the more intimate La Mer which is adjacent to the Seaview.

The restaurant is open every night and restaurant manager ’Eduardo’ (who has been with FJB for over 12 years) and his team will ensure that your every need is catered for.

The menu will appeal to every palate and includes fresh sea food, meat and vegetarian dishes; there is also a grill menu. The restaurant overlooks Poole Bay and is managed to a very high standard.
